What is Trustly?

Owned by Nordic Capital, Trustly is a disruptive Swedish headquartered next-generation payments business. What does Trustly do? Trustly provides merchants with account to account (A2A) payments which are more secure, faster and cheaper than the card network. Gaming is its largest end market but it is also active in e-commerce, digital goods, financial services and travel. It is mostly focused on the Nordics and Baltics but is continuing its expansion in Europe and US. The opportunity Why Nordic Capital invested in the business: Strong growth opportunities both into new geographies and new markets and significant room to expand the product portfolio. A2A payments make for a very compelling business model, certainly from a customer perspective, reducing cost whilst increasing security and speed. To capitalize on their leading market position, with Trustly spearheading the transition to direct bank payments becoming the new norm.
